Ik that the solution is not to be fixed in wwebjs but raised the bug here as wwebjs community is directly linked to WhatsApp web.
And most of the people use Ubuntu vps.
So if the community can come up with a solution because majority of people using the library would be facing the same issue.
And if whatsapp doesn't work properly then people won't be able to wwebjs.
Also there is no issue of interest connection as have tried with wifi, 4G and 5G network.
And there is no huge difference like I mentioned in the version.
So to sum up the issue is not directly linked to library but the issue is linked to Ubuntu and whatsapp so indirectly related to library as the library revolves arround whatsapp

Can we try in Linux?

Not working in Linux also

I get the same issue

from whatsapp-web.js.

gaurav23122001 avatar gaurav23122001 commented on June 24, 2024

The issue arises because whatsapp web is not working properly on ubuntu server.
I installed my ubuntu server with Desktop XFCE and just opened web.whatsapp.com without actually using the library.
The issue is that for some devices it logins but for most of the devices the qr just reloads.
So to sum up the issue is with ubuntu and whatsapp web.
I hope we can find a work around to use it because I am using my ubuntu server from the last 1 year with the library and it was working fine but now it doesn't.

Please do not close this issue as you guys must be trying with your number and it must be logging in.
Try with a different mobile number if possible and you will find the issue.

Can't confirm this issue running on Ubuntu 22.04.4 LTS, Node v18.20.2 and wwebjs 2.2413.51.

@themazim please try with different mobile numbers. I am also using Ubuntu 22.04.4 LTS. The normal web.whatsapp.com doesn't work properly without even node and wwebjs on chrome and chromium.

I tried 4 different numbers (2 on ios and 2 on android) and I was not able to reproduce the issue. But I am using 2.2413.51 (beta).

WhatsApp.Video.2024-05-13.at.12.16.36_7cb31076.mp4

As you can clearly see here I am using ubuntu 22.04 with Desktop XFCE.
I just installed the ubuntu and connected using remote desktop with my windows machine.
Opened chromium and just entered web.whatsapp.com.
Now the issue is that the when login the qr code reloads like shown in the video.

Thing to note here is that I have tried google chrome, firefox too as a browser and have tried using the library too.
Also like mentioned by @themazim this issue doesn't happen for all the numbers.
I personally have 3 numbers out of which 2 are not working but one is working out of which the one not working is on android device and other two not working are on Android and IOS respectively.

I am also attaching the screenshot of how the phone looks like after the qr code reloads

The same issue arises when we use the wwebjs library as ultimately it opens whatsapp web too.

So it seems the issue is not related to wwebjs but rather WhatsApp and ubuntu / chromium.

Can you check the WhatsApp Versions on your phone?

I tested with versions.

IOS 2.24.8.85 & 2.24.9.74
Android 2.24.9.78 & WA Business 2.24.9.80

gaurav23122001 avatar gaurav23122001 commented on June 24, 2024

Yes the issue is not with Library more with WhatsApp and Ubuntu.
Not just chromium because I tried with different web browser like chrome and Firefox.

Android version: 2.24.9.78 and 2.24.9.80
WA Business 2.24.5.76
IOS 2.24.8.85

Having issues in Android version mentioned and IOS too. Not till WA BUSINESS version

from whatsapp-web.js.

themazim avatar themazim commented on June 24, 2024

Any huge difference in the devices or Android version? Maybe unrelated, but are you by any chance using a proxy or have slow internet or the phones not using your wifi but instead their mobile connection?

From what I know your phone is sending chats to WhatsApp and it may just timeout or not send a certain request in time and thus the QR is generated again.

Either way, this still seems to be unrelated to the library and I assume it is not possible to fix this in wwebjs.

If there's an issue with the operating system, why was it running smoothly before? Why did it suddenly have an issue?

And not only me many people as you can see previous issues are facing the same issue
