Strange, I also use Tree Style Tab but without issue.
At start duplicate tabs closer only check for duplicate and this should not generate issue.
What kind of issue do you have?
Can you give some details so I can try to reproduce the issue?

@Peuj I observed that when more than 200 tabs are opened from cache while startup, this app can cause a significant delay. So, it would be good if this app doesn't slow down the startup.
