@BMCwebdev Thanks! Unfortunately there's no quick fix for your use-case... We build 'padding' directly into the path info of the SVGs to make them visually consistent in size. This means there isn't really any padding to subtract, and there isn't a constant offset you could apply to every icon to get them to fit the same square. If every icon just filled the square on it's largest axis, you'd have visual inconsistencies.

I would definitely direct you to read my partner's article on the subject and why we chose to do this, and [not to preach, but] why you might want to account for it in your design system.
As an example, a square-shaped icon that fits a 32 x 32 canvas would completely fill it, and look much larger than a triangular icon that fits a 32 x 32 canvas. How much do you size up the triangle to make them look visually the same size? That's what we figure out beforehand and bake into the icons.
