Looks like the backup of the internal resources before the migration is too large to fit into the k8s secret. In this case you have to manually create a backup of the resources:
$ mkdir linstor-backup
$ cd linstor-backup
$ kubectl api-resources --api-group=internal.linstor.linbit.com -oname | xargs --no-run-if-empty kubectl get crds -oyaml > crds.yaml
$ for CRD in $(kubectl api-resources --api-group=internal.linstor.linbit.com -oname); do
$ kubectl get "${CRD}" -oyaml > "${CRD}.yaml"
$ done
This should leave you with the above mentioned .yaml files on your local machine.
Then, simply create an empty secret like this:
$ kubectl create secret generic linstor-backup-for-linstor-controller-67b986477c-rx9zl --type piraeus.io/linstor-backup
Afterwards, the migration should start

Great!
Thanks for the quick response.
