Hah, did you buy a new mac? OS 10.7 any good?

This error seems to stem from the fact that nosetests try to run TestSimilarityABC as a test suite. It's not, it doesn't inherit from unittest.TestCase. The "ABC" stands for Abstract Base-Class, it cannot be instantiated.

Try to run standard python setup.py test to see if the error persists and tell me. I'm not sure how nosetests determine what to run and what not ("Test*" prefix?). If you find out, we can fix/rename the ABC class, no big deal, nothing else depends on this code.

Btw nothing changed in that code, so these nosetests must have been failing for you since forever.

Yes, bought a new mac and being one of the 10.7 early adopters really sucks.
All the development tools, python modules, etc are a pain to install because of many small bugs.

Should have waited a few month before I switch to the new os.

You are right, I think that nose just looks for the pattern Test*

When I run the setup.py test it works without any problems. Sorry for the confusion, issue will be closed immediately ;-)
