....?

@arsenovic , no there's currently not a way to do this. We've talked about it a bit though.
@chriddyp, @alexcjohnson, should we allow this though clientresp? I don't think it would take too much time. This along with adding collaborators would be really nice additions for remote access.

Definitely we should allow this... lets roll it into the coming API revision instead of building it on top of something that's about to change. Actually I thought these were already in the discussion https://github.com/plotly/Contributors-Guide/blob/master/data-model/data-api/README.md but I don't see them now. @theengineear you want to flesh this out?
from plotly.py.
@alexcjohnson , yeah i'll throw that in there tonight! I agree with just adding it to the new API instead of trying to squeeze it into what we've got now.

Is this still in progress? Would be a helpful feature!

@coffenbacher yes it is, but it's a still a few months out. In the meantime, you can prevent the proliferation of graphs by overwriting existing graphs by specifying the same filename:
py.plot(figure, filename='temp')

Great, thanks, that's the approach I'm using.

There's support for this in the REST API now, so this should be more doable.
