Please fully install the powershell cmdlets and reinstall the latest version from https://github.com/officedev/pnp-powershell/releases. It seems you're missing the required newtonsoft.json which was by mistake omitted from the package a few releases ago.

ok, thanks as usual Erwin. I'm pretty sure it was just downloaded (today) from the master branch. I'll make use of releases page in the future.
If I understand correctly, you're saying that current version in master branch shouldn't have this issue.

P.S. The procedure to correctly update an already installed version requires to uninstall previous versions first?

The current released version includes that DLL indeed. The current version in the master branch is also up to date.

Please fully uninstall the package first and then reinstall it. If the uninstall does not clear out the installation folder, remove the folder manually. There has been a release which is refering to version 7.0 of the NewtonSoft.Json assembly, and we reverted to version 6.0 recently. It might be that version 7.0 is installed on your machine instead in the PnP PowerShell installation folder..

I'm quite sure a previous version was installed on that machine indeed.
