Update - the property is there, as I can refer to it but executing the query just gives me the error. I can see the property (as named SiteLogoUrl) after reading members ($web | gm)

from pnp-powershell.

It can be that the Client SDK you're using is of the latest build, however, that the server is not of a build that supports the SiteLogoUrl property. The earliest version we support is the March 2015 CU for SharePoint 2013 on-premises (build 15.0.4701.1001)

Ok - so that's the reason, I'm using vanilla 2013SP1 without any CUs
