What docs should be updated? The pnpm install --help correctly lists --dev, while pnpm add --help correctly lists --save-dev. The issue is that pnpm install <pkg> is converted to the pnpm add as people coming from npm CLI are used to using install for both actions. I understand how this could be confusing but I don't know how to solve it.

Looks like npm is deprecating the --dev option and suggests using --include=dev instead. We can do that.

As a user, the problem is that the --dev option described in the help doesn't work. I think it should either work, or not be described in the help.

i'm seeing this on my mac machine with pnpm 8.6.9. try -D instead of --dev. that worked for me.
