Hello,
This seems to be related to the double list generated by implode() which has been reported but seems to be intended (Cf. #10042)

If we flatten the result it works in 0.20.31, but fails as in #17129 in 1.0.0b1 :

df = pl.DataFrame({"a": [1, 2, 2, 3, 3], "b": [2, 2, 4, 7, 8]})
(df.with_columns(pl.col("b")
   .implode().over("a", mapping_strategy = 'join')
   .flatten().list.set_intersection([4, 8]))
)

from polars.
