GERMS Machine Learning Group

Material for the GERMS lab machine learning group. These are intended as a hands-on introduction to machine learning for those with minimal Python experience. The lessons are balanced between theory- and applications-centered lessons.

Setup

You can create a copy of the virtual environment used at these study group meetings by doing the following with Conda.

1. Clone the repo: git clone https://github.com/pommevilla/germs.ml.git
2. Move to the newly cloned directory: cd germs.ml
3. Create the environment from the yml file: conda env create -f src/germsml.yml
4. Check that the installation works: conda activate germsml
5. You should see (germsml) next to your command line prompt. You should be all set! Deactivate the environment with conda deactivate.
