On top of quoting parameter values, you could also specify that the parameter is a [string], and if needed, validate that it's all digits and so forth

Cheers!

This is a side effect of using the AST to parse the command string. When it sees what looks like a number (e.g. 01821) it will attempt to parse that as an integer so 01821 becomes 1821. Without some major changes to the parser, I think the only way to control this behavior is to wrap the parameter in quotes to tell AST it is a string. This is the same behavior at the command line as the AST is used in the background.

PS C:\> 01821
1821
PS C:\> '01821'
01821

This makes sense, i can verify on input and add the zero if needed as well as add parameter validation. Thanks guys.

I'll cancel this as to me it doesn't appear a bug.
