I'm not advocating AGPL, I just wanted to point out that GPL doesn't add a lot of protection to such a project (and AGPL does), and I just wanted to make sure you're aware of that.

Hey, thanks!

I think you're right, I wasn't sure which one to use frankly and the license descriptions on Github confused me a bit. I didn't want to deter people from using it, as it happens I think with licenses that could be perceived in certain environments (e.g. medium/large companies) as overly demanding.

For example, this Quora answer tells us:

AGPL: If your software gives service online, you have to publish the source code of it and any library that it borrows functions from.

Caveat what I'm saying with I'm not a lawyer, but if a company uses this in any capacity I think, they have to publish the source code, which could scare away some legal departments / engineers from using it with modifications. For example, some companies are so afraid of this that they prohibit open source contributions completely, which AGPL I think would require.

That being said, as long as AGPL doesn't do that, it sounds like the license to use.

AGPL is banned in a lot of large corporations.
