:-) Perhaps one could have an option that enables GitHub Flavored Markdown. Then all these things could be cleanly implemented for those that want them? I can definitely understand your desire though, especially if you are working on projects that are hosted on GitHub, but on the other hand... when do you need name tags in static files? I thought they are primarily used in comments...?
