Hi fooledbyprimes,

I'm guessing that cython can't find numpy header files. Do you have numpy installed?

There's a pre-built VM that you can run under VirtualBox. Its in the Download section of the BayesDB website. That would be an install free way to get working with BayesDB.

You should only do this if your comfortable reading and understanding the implications of the install process. It will modify the system python packages and install system packages that could put your system in an inconsistent state
Alternatively, you could adapt the install.sh script to your OS. Note: there have been reports (issue #7 , issue #8) that the install process is broken on 13.10. I'm looking into that and will try to verify install and/or have a VM for 13.10 in the near future.

I thought I had numpy. I'll check and give that a try. Thanks.

I installed fortran compiler (Ubuntu 12.10's default) and I installed:
sudo apt-get install python-numpy python-scipy
Now my error goes away. It wasn't that difficult to debug my environment. Thanks!
