Sorted this, just passed in
include PublicActivity::Model
tracked :owner => :user
from public_activity.
The solution you came up is the one we advise, @current_user
does not exist when you define your models. By providing :user
, you order PublicActivity to set the owner from the #user
method on a instance your model.
Note that :owner => :user
will assign owner of the activity from the #user
method on the trackable object. if you meant to assign @current_user
to the owner, there are two ways:
include PublicActivity::StoreController
in yourApplicationController
, then dotracked :owner => proc { |controller, model| controller.current_user }
, assuming you have method#current_user
on your controller.@trackable_object.activity :owner => @current_user
in your controller action
An example application using this gem is under development and will be out soon, where best practises will be shown.

Please add this to the readme :) Happy to found it here though!
