liuggio avatar liuggio commented on July 20, 2024

another options would be use https://github.com/badges/buckler :)

Anahkiasen avatar Anahkiasen commented on July 20, 2024

Ah yes nice, well Buckler uses Shields underneath so it's pretty much the same but might be a lot easier to implement.

liuggio avatar liuggio commented on July 20, 2024

:) the goal could be improve the image template and the font,
or create a BucklerImageCreator that uses the buckler command line

Now badges have fixed image dimensions.

actual with buckler
Downloads downloads-14-blue
Latest Stable Version stable-v1 0 4-58afdc
Latest Unstable Version unstable-1 0 x--dev-e68718
dev unstable-dev--master-e68718

what do you think?

Anahkiasen avatar Anahkiasen commented on July 20, 2024

I think it's better that way : fixed dimensions is a false good idea.

As most badges are displayed inline in READMEs it's never actually noticed that they're all the same size but on the other hand it constrains you and you have to find shortcuts to fit all your text in that predefined width which leads to problem (see dev-master badge). So at least for me I think it's better that way.

@liuggio did you create the Buckler's badge with Buckler command line ? Can you please write the parameters you used ? Especially colors.
