That's a client-side problem: I guess that your field is required.
I'm afraid that such problem is outside the scope of this bundle

I still think there is a problem. Even if the field is not required, how would you erase a preselected value?
For instance:

1. The empty form loads
2. I type an value in the autocompleted field and select one option
3. Finally I don't want to type anything in this non-required field and erased the (visible) selection

Then, the field will still be submitted with a value, whereas the user did explicitly erased the content.

If you use select2, there is allowClear: true option.
