PyQt5 has reached end-of-life, and support for it was removed from Pillow in 10.0.0 - https://pillow.readthedocs.io/en/stable/deprecations.html#pyqt5-and-pyside2

Apologies, you're correct. My application (OpenSesame) uses qtpy as an abstraction layer over PyQt and I thought it used PyQt6, but on my Ubuntu system it actually uses PyQt5. Closing.
