I think adding additional features to the scene editor to make a more fully featured UI is a great idea, and there's no reason not to add it provided that it can be turned off or ignored. Not everyone will want/use these features, so we should make sure they're nested in some manner or we can toggle them.

Just trying to avoid feature creep here as some people might want a basic UI. On the other hand, exposing more functionality will make it easier for new users to get up and running right away with pyvista and pyvistaqt.

@pyvista/developers feel free to share your thoughts. For example, do you prefer to keep the scene editor very basic or you think it could be a good idea to continue adding features (and in this case, what would be the priority?)

Just to clarify, I don't have any ETA on this but I would be happy to help any volunteer with Qt and/or VTK experience who want to pick something from the list 👍
