Looking at a connector example

connections:
  myconnection:
    type: testconnector
    username: gwe
    settings:
      host: corectl-test-connector

How would you pass in "second level" parameters? e.g the host in this case?

@carlioth would passing the input string as JSON/YML be an option or would that defeat the purpose?

@FredrikFolkesson As long as I don't have to add a file I'm happy. Do you have an example how this would look like if passing for a folder connection, and how it would look like for a database connection?

Since we want to be consistent with the options regarding what can be passed as a parameter, this sounds like something that we don't want to implement. Passing JSON structures through a command line parameter for e.g. objects would be very verbose. IMO passing a connection defined in a JSON file should be sufficient enough and is already supported today. Any objections to closing this issue @carlioth?
