dotfiles's Introduction

Ben Orenstein's dot files

These are config files to set up a system the way I like it.

Vim-users will likely find useful stuff in my vimrc, and also my Ruby snippets.

I'm also a pretty aggressive aliaser. You might find a few you like in zsh/aliases.

Installation

git clone git://github.com/r00k/dotfiles ~/.dotfiles
cd ~/.dotfiles
rake install

Vim plugins are managed through vundle. You'll need to install vundle to get them.

git clone https://github.com/gmarik/Vundle.vim.git ~/.vim/bundle/Vundle.vim
Run :BundleInstall in vim.

dotfiles's Issues

Prompt sucks

Need the cwd and git branch. Also, drop the host name.

Need to add .lein

There's a profiles.clj file in there that should be shared on different machines.

Git Blame functionality already provided with a plugin currently installed

The plugin vim-fugitive that you already have installed provides the same thing as your <Leader>b command with a little bit more extended functionality. The command is :GBlame and it also provides you with commit navigation.
If your current blame operation works and you like it, great. Otherwise, this plugin's git blame functionality is a little more feature rich than your current setup.
