taking the server.r and ui.r code from https://github.com/ramnathv/rCharts/tree/master/inst/apps/rChartApp
rather from the readme.md file listing solved my problem.

I fixed the app on Glimmer. There were some code changes in the latest version of rCharts which broke the application. I will try and update the index.Rmd file as well so that such errors can be avoided.

UPDATED. I have updated the shiny code on the page. So it should work now.
