Which version of which browser are you using? Does the problem also occur when you view the plugin demo page? The demo page is here: http://jdbartlett.github.com/loupe/ If the demos work for you, there may be something specific about your implementation that's tripping up the script; could you post an example of your implementation at http://jsbin.com/ or elsewhere?

It was the padding. If I add padding to the image then it doesn't activate from the right or bottom, unless my cursor is moving very fast. This was easy enough to get around, so it's not really a big deal, but if someone else runs into this problem, remove the padding.

Thanks for reporting your solution. Borders seem to have a similar effect, which I can see being more of a problem; as do margins.
