You might want to look at

Sjoerd did some kind of POC RTP mapping for VP8 and it apparently works. You 
guys should probably 
collaborate with him to define an offical RFC for RTP/VP8

I'm also interested in the issue and probably I'll implement what is being 
discussed
in the mailing list in feng and ffmpeg soon.

That said, sadly html5 doesn't have provisions about rtsp to my knowledge even 
if
both webkit and chrome could support it leveraging either gst/quicktime or 
ffmpeg
directly.

For the VP8 RTP spec the current draft is here:
http://tools.ietf.org/html/draft-westin-payload-vp8-02

As for putting RTSP/RTP into the the browsers you would need to take that up 
with a different list.
