I'm not sure this is a bug in React Router but potentially a bug in Chrome's implementation of window.history. I was able to reproduce this in Chrome, but it worked fine in Firefox.

I can also cause this behavior in Chrome by removing React Router entirely and just calling these 3 lines on page load:

window.history.pushState({ id: 1 }, "", "/index1");
window.history.pushState({ id: 2 }, "", "/index2");
window.history.pushState({ id: 3 }, "", "/index3");

It seems that Chrome captures these as 3 separate history entries:

But then clicking back goes straight to the Google entry. So it seems like potentially a bug when pushState is called sequentially in the same thread?

from react-router.
