I agree. library version != spec version. Also maybe we should change the naming scheme of the spec version to use the actual month that the spec was updated :) Right now it feels like a copy of ubuntu versions...

it was actually a copy of ubuntu versions, and then the months started slipping... now we'll go internet drafts, so then if we follow IETF's convention for internet drafts, we have to version them as -00, -01, etcetera.

ok, i think we're doing this correctly now; the big separation we had between 0.6 and 0.7 is now behind us anyway. please reopen if you want to bring this back up for further discussion.
