That is the behavior if that require call is done outside of a define() call. If that call is done inside a define() call, ask for "require" as a dependency to have it resolve relative to the file with the define call:

define(['require'], function (require) {
    require(['./module'], function(){});
});

If that is not the problem, more information on the use case is appreciated.

Thanks, this is what I need.

Now that I look again in the API docs I find that it is mentioned at the "Multiversion Support" section. Since I believe this is a pretty common use case, I suggest putting the info to a more obvious place.

That is a good idea. Maybe I can put a note about it in other module notes. Do you think that would be a good place? I'm open to other suggestions.
