Aaaarrrgh, I though I solved that one. You aren't by any chance using a
ruby-libglade2 newer than 0.14.2 ?

Yes I am.  I have libglade2-ruby 0.15.0-1.1 which is in Debian testing.

Although I think it's ruby it's fault, I will look to find a workaround. Btw, 
the 
ruby-libglade2 version doesn't seem to matter much. It now happens with the 
0.14 
version for me as well (or as bad ;) ).

It's a known problem and should be solved with ruby-libglade2 cvs code:

Thanks.  Guess you can close this bug.  If it keeps happening when those libs 
get
updated the bug can be resubmitted.

I think you're right. There doesn't seem to be a workaround in my code right 
now. 
The user should solve this by downgrading all ruby bindings for gtk2 to a 
0.14.* 
version. Just ruby-libglade2 isn't enough.

You can also convince you're package maintainer to apply the patch as posted in 
the 
bug tracker of the gnome2 bindings. Link:
