OK, I think I know what is happening here.

When I am creating the bp_annotation_list in my test data, I am trimming it to a specific set. However, the statistics and other stuff is coming from everything that was measured. So, we have stuff in the statistics that does not exist in the annotation.

There are two ways to get around this:

  1. Create a constructor method for the enriched_result class that does sanity checks that everything matches
  2. Also have the statistics methods check against the annotation data and throw anything out that doesnt belong
