Kestrel cannot start since "/etc/kestrel.conf" is missing about kestrel

this usually means that ostrich can't find the build.properties file inside its jar.
which branch are you on? how are you starting kestrel?

I'm not sure how/why this happened but after a clean rebuild today, it seems to have disappeared. Sorry for the noise, and thanks for the help.

Heh this started happening to me (with the tip of the master brach, plus an older 2.1.0-series version). Here's what it is:

This doesn't work:
java -server -Xmx1024m -Dstage=development -jar kestrel-2.1.1-SNAPSHOT.jar

But this does:
java -server -Xmx1024m -Dstage=development -jar ./kestrel-2.1.1-SNAPSHOT.jar

That is, if you are chdir'd to the directory containing the jar file, you have to have "./" at the beginning of the path. Hmm.

(If you are up another directory, kestrel-2.1.1-SNAPSHOT/kestrel-2.1.1-SNAPSHOT.jar works fine, without a leading dot-slash.)
