@glove99 I can reproduce the issue. To debug it is helpful to run one of the functions manually which configure the touch bar and enable debug mode in fish shell by running:

# Enable debug mode
set fish_trace 1

# To disable
# set fish_trace

Documentation:

fish_trace, if set and not empty, will cause fish to print commands before they execute, similar to set -x in bash. The trace is printed to the path given by the --debug-output option to fish (stderr by default).
