I'm afraid I don't, but it is the second Highest Rated and Most Downloaded addon from http://addons.videolan.org/

And there are tons of websites recommending it.

Maybe the VLC Team didn't see it as a priority enhancement?

Don't think so, license of the script is GPL ( http://www.gnu.org/licenses/gpl.html ), I think all scripts and skins on http://addons.videolan.org/ are made by third party programmers, and if the VLC Team ever found it, I don't see this as being of high value to the local distribution of VLC (as specially when you can simply download it if you ever need it). It does although have value for a Web Player.
