It's a guess, but try putting the label in a <span>.

In my specific case, I had stuff like:

<span translate>Foo bar <br>buu yaa</span>

I'm solving this issue by doing:

<span translate>Foo bar buu yaa</span>

I should have used text placeholders instead anyway.
