There are no plans to implement this unfortunately. We already support 3 of the most popular version control providers and each provider adds a lot of additional complexity and causes additional work to implement each new feature. As such, I don't think this will be implemented.
Hi there!
Would this statement be re-evaluated?
It doesn't make sense to me not to support the most popular on-prem/self-hosted git server (gitea) when you are a on-prem/self-hosted terraform automation tool.

To echo @etienne-napoleone , I was hoping to use gitea with atlantis in a new self-hosted project.
If I want to use atlantis, is my only self-hosted option Gitlab?

This issue should be reopen, now that Gitea Actions exists

Bitcucket I will say have far more users than gitea or gogs and it is always far behind on features and bug fixes so I can't even imagine adding all the code needed for a new VCS to then fall behind and then we are left with code that is broken in the project.
if someone really wants this then there will have to be some solid commitment to maintaining the feature, we can't build it.

Bitbucket is not open source and gitea/forgejo will support federation.
Guess which one is the future.

but again, who is going to build the integration? will you support it for 2-4 years? because again, we can't do it.
Atlantis needs to support the most used VCSs available so that there is enough people to test and support it.

@jamengual I think that you are underestimating the number of people adopting gitea. Especially now that bitbucket is a cloud solution only. Anywho, those are my 2 cents.

As I said before, I'm not in opposition as long as the integration is supported for a reasonable time and I'm not the only one that needs to vote for this.
I just wanted to make sure to express that the Atlantis maintainers do not have any time to build the integration.
If you send us a PR we will be happy to review it.
