Not intended to work in Unity. The example application works well in Mono or Microsoft CLR.
I can advice to double check allocation and deallocation sequence this is fully unsafe and unmanaged environment thus any error can lead to crash.

I also encountered this problem, I am using .net Framework 4.7 environment, the program freezes when using avformat_close_input, how did you solve this problem
