This repo tracks the latest nightly. You should make sure that you have the most recent nightly of rustc. You're getting errors about an illegal suffix us, which was added in the last couple weeks.

I believe @BurntSushi is right, it looks like you've got an outdated rustc. Please feel free to reopen if it still happens after updating though!

Thanks a lot guys, that solved the issue.
I expected the rustup.sh script to download the 1.0.0 version of rustc but it downloaded the stable one, so I just rebuilt everything from scratch.
