Ok, maybe it is just me, but the simplest solution boils down to using the ring feature of rustls:

cargo add rustls --features ring

And then, early in your main fn call:

rustls::crypto::ring::default_provider().install_default().expect("Failed to install rustls crypto provider");

Correct?
