ok thanks.. i was just trying to see if the vim-bindings inside notebooks has made it into 6.4 (as in cloud.sagemath.com), but that does not seem to be the case... ;(

This is now fixed. Just in time for the new link for 6.4.1 not to be working.

@petergthatsme - what vim-bindings inside notebooks do you mean? I don't think this is even an open ticket there, and unlikely to be implemented anytime soon, probably.

let's call this a perpetual ticket. maybe i should pay more attention to this and add a temporary stub file... i think i did it, but probably not in the VM and hence not visible.

@kcrisman
oh.. well, if one uses sage through cloud.sagemath.com there are vim/emacs bindings available for navigating the notebook - i find these extremely useful!... so in May i sent a personal email to William asking about these making their way to a standalone sage notebooks (i.e. not in the cloud), and he mentioned that there will be a standalone version of SageMathCloud at some point in the future. So I just wanted to see if there are any updates on that front (as i would imagine it would just come as a part of sage).

Perhaps I should just submit a feature request about vim/emacs bindings through github?

@petergthatsme well, no and yes. 1. this is only about the sagemath.org website, which is really only a bunch of static websites with some agglomerated complexity over the years. 2. the sage notebook is what you think about, you have to report this over there as a feature request issue.

PS: there is also a vi-like mode for IPython notebooks. That's also something I would like to see for sage-notebooks.

@haraldschilly
sure, i meant post a feature request for the sage-notebook project (not here)... i will do that. thanks.

also fix link to changelog at /development.html ... and my general plan is to copy over all changelogs into a dedicated /changelogs subdirectory. The only missing piece is an automatically generated index file for them.

petergthatsme avatar petergthatsme commented on August 20, 2024

I would propose to just remove the changelog link from the front page altogether, given that it often (mostly always?) does not work.
