At the time, I remember copying the content from Wikipedia, but a quick compare with ISO standard abbreviatios in word atlas seems to suggest, it is. Maybe will look more into it later.

I don't have a particular source, most are from Wikipedia or from other reliable organizations.

I'll do my best to keep it updated, I am working on something that will keep watching for changes from the main sources and suggest a PR, when a content ... say in Wikipedia changes.
