I want to download PDFs .. kind of similar problem.
I wonder if its even possible at the moment because of https://bugs.chromium.org/p/chromium/issues/detail?id=696481

A good default would be to use .evaluate. If this turns out to be too much work, let's discuss how this could become part of the official API. (Would be great if you could share your .evaluate code eventually.)

@ds82 my understanding is that the Chromium guys are actively working on 696481 so we should see it land in Chrome soon. 😄

Is it possible to intercept a download event? For example, I click something and then the download pops up, and I can intercept the URL and do something with it.

Interested in this as well. I have a use-case for clicking something and being able to handle downloads.
