I agree. Could you create a PR for Fedora to make this work, optionally, enabled by an ENV variable?
I will gladly help you if you get stuck on some issue.

There is no reason to create PR against Fedora, because it won't be accepted unless this Ruby upstream ticket is resolved:

@pvalena Thanks for the suggestion. I would love to, but it doesn't fit into my schedule right now.
@voxik At the end of the day this is a glibc problem. Since Fedora chose glibc, I do think they should take part in resolving this problem for ruby (and all other applications/interpreters).

@seandilda the good news is that glibc developers are involved in the Ruby ticket. The bad news is that they are quiet for some time already. We'll see.
