So I looked into the problem. For once the assembly descriptor only includes external sources in the root and the target source in a folder /src/main/java ... I fixed that but also included the class files. For that reason you have to do a "mvn compile" before you assemble the jar. Tried it on my computer and it worked.

Just one more thing: I had to create the directory tree src/main/resources with the file jscsi-target.xsd in it to get it running. Seems to be hard-coded somewhere

Thats true, I only included xml files. I will include the .xsd file later aswell, thanks for the info.
