You may want to export the environment variable no_proxy:
export no_proxy='0,localhost,127.0.0.0/8'
from edts.

This works!
I only tried the no_proxy in my .emacs but for some reason it doesn't work from there.
Closing this since it seems to be a problem with no_proxy for localhost in url-proxy-services, or that I haven't set it up correct.
