You basically want to use migrations. Is that correct?

Please note that the model:create command also generates migrations. The only thing that might be missing within them is the userId column in the task migration.

As of today, it seemed we started using sequelize in a pretty bad state, since promises are just being implemented, warnings and errors come up some time and sometimes they don't and the documentation on www.sequelizejs.com seem's to be pretty much not for the 2.0.0-rc.

My intention was to create a simple association without having to use "sync()". I got it working now, digging into what first seemed to be the same documentation as on your page:

http://sequelize.readthedocs.org/en/rtd/

Thank's for your immediate reply. Maybe we can work up to something like a more explaining example (maybe containing tests?) since I guess I'm not the only one struggling at the beginning.
