I think there's a hard limit somewhere on SVG size, possibly just in the file uploading code.
I tried to run the demo on some of the test images from http://w3.impa.br/~diego/projects/GanEtAl14/, because that paper/site has images and timings for other vector graphics rendering methods to compare with, but it barfed on all but the smaller examples.

Yeah, there's a size limit. I should probably make the limit to something very large in local builds and only enforce the low limit on the public facing Web site.

I've hopefully made it easy to override the size limit now. One OSM I tried now panics in the stroking code, but I'd rather open specific followup issues about that.
