Possible to use a file which is retrieved from server using javascript? about sheetjs

This is a horrible hack, but there is a way to do it:

Using XHR2, set responseType = "arraybuffer" and convert to an array:

I do expect to make this nicer (which is why im not closing this issue), but as a stop-gap measure this works

i've tried this code for reading xls file.But i got "xlsread is not defined error".Here is my code:

function loaded(evt) {

                 var arraybuffer = evt.target.result;
                 var data = new Uint8Array(arraybuffer);
                         var arr = new Array();
                         for(var i = 0; i != data.length; ++i) arr[i] = data[i];
                         console.log(xlsread(arr, {type:"array"}));

@cemiley I reworked the interface (so that it didn't leak as many variables). Use XLS.read:

function loaded(evt) {  
    var arraybuffer = evt.target.result;
    var data = new Uint8Array(arraybuffer);
    var arr = new Array();
    for(var i = 0; i != data.length; ++i) arr[i] = data[i];
    console.log(XLS.read(arr, {type:"array"}));
}

i've tried also XLS.read(arr,{type:array}) there was no error but nothing read from xls.

@cemiley @calnz http://niggler.github.io/js-xls/ajax.html works on chrome 30 and firefox 24.0 for OSX. Can you confirm that this works for you?
