The change would be to go from

encoding {
    y: { "field": "retweets" }
}

to

encoding {
    y: { "field": "retweets", "scale": { "type:" "log" } }
}

Some of the scale types take parameters (like a base for log), but they're optional.

(or if you want to do this more comprehensively with an explicit scale option)

Looks like the options would be linear, log, sqrt, pow, symlog, and time
