Why not just trash build/ 2>/dev/null?

konsumer avatar konsumer commented on July 28, 2024

/dev/null does not exist on windows. I want to use it cross-platform.
I could also do trash build/ ; do stuff but in windows that's trash build/ & do stuffwhich is bad for unix (spawn bg process.)

My use case is in package.json:

{
  "devDependencies": {
    "trash":""
  },

  "scripts": {
    "build": "trash --force build/ && BUILDSTUFF"
  }
}

&& is cross-platform. It's a dumb windows thing.
