Hi Kevin,

This is indeed a bug in Unicorn 1.0.6. You can get it to follow template changes for the moment by adding this event definition to your Serialization.config:

 <event name="item:templateChanged">
    <handler type="Unicorn.FilteredItemHandler, Unicorn" method="OnItemVersionRemoved"/>
 </event>

What was the situation where an item being tracked by Unicorn needed its template changed? If you're tracking content items (i.e. not renderings and templates) be very careful as it's easy to lose data, especially if workflow is involved, because 'version 2' created on separate environments are considered equal so one wins and the other is deleted.

This issue does not affect the Unicorn 2 alpha, which hooks in at the data provider level instead of event handlers and already gets hit for template changes.

Hi Kam,

yes this fixed it. Oh this was just a little mistake from my site in development. But thanks for the clarification of the risk with this.

Thanks for the workaround and regards,
Kevin

One last thing - there's actually also a bug that it deleted the item that failed to load. I've addressed that with a new 1.0.7 release.
